The Undercurrent

The Undercurrent is the collective name for the dedicated worldwide fanbase of Miki Komori.

While her fans are officially and most commonly known as Angelfins, many within the community also are referred to as the Undercurrent - a deeper, collective title, that reflects their role as an unseen supportive force.

Big donators are, of course, called whale sharks.

Angelfins are well-known for their kindness and generosity. This positive community spirit often leads to epic Hype Trains on Twitch, when there is a surge of support (Subs, Gift subs, or Bits) from multiple unique viewers.

The sound of air horns signals that a Hype Train has been triggered. When this happens, the Crab Rave song begins playing and a countdown bar appears at the top of the chat. The community then has five minutes to fill the bar and reach the next level. Each time the bar is filled, the timer resets and the difficulty increases.

At the end, everyone who contributed receives exclusive Hype Train emotes, and the top supporter during an active Hype Train receives an exclusive Conductor badge. Choo choo!

When Miki is about to end her stream, she often raids another streamer. This allows her viewers to continue watching content seamlessly while also supporting other creators. She has a group of friends she raids frequently.

Before raiding, a special Raid Message is provided that viewers can copy and paste into the other streamer’s chat. In the Angelfin community, this is fondly known as a Shark Attack!

When Miki finished streaming and the screen fades to black, Angelsfins occasionally drop by the chatbox to gamble points and climb the leaderboard. You garner points by watching streams on Twitch, and it's only use is you can gamble the points to climb in the scorelist. For more information about how to play yourself, please visit the dedicated gamble page.

The "Fan Cult of Shark Miki" Discord server is an unofficial, fan-run community. It was created and is maintained by dedicated Angelfins, as Miki herself has stated multiple times that she is not comfortable being in Discord servers and prefers not to join any fan groups.

The Undercurrent consists of a bunch of very loyal and creative viewers, who occasionally send their fan art and passion projects with Miki.

The artwork of Miki and the Undercurrent circling Subliminal was provided by RS_Mind in the fan Discord.
